Selected Current Clients

Ann Becker and Associates, Inc., a strategy consulting firm specializing in meetings, events, and organizational development for nonprofits.
For over two decades Marketscope has provided and continues to provide marketing strategy services for the firm and for the firm's clients. Typically our role is to create marketing plans for recruiting participants and, in some cases, to implement the recommendations for public relations and print and internet based promotional strategies.

American Theological Library Association, a professional association of theological libraries and librarians.
In support of the first ever Theological Libraries Month, Marketscope provided marketing strategy consulting and drafted boilerplate promotional copy. The copy, which included press releases, newsletter articles, and "quick tip" guides, was posted on ATLA's website for use by member libraries introducing Theological Library Month on their campuses and in their communities.

Bernard Zell Anshe Emet Day School, an independent Jewish day school on Chicago's north side.
Assisted Board of Trustees in agenda planning and design of group processes for two meetings, a Development Committee strategic planning meeting and an annual Board of Trustees Retreat. Facilitated and documented both events which successfully achieved their objectives of preparing for governance activities during the coming school year.

digital primates IT Consulting Group, a technology consulting firm that provides software design and development as well as network design and administration.
Over the past eight years, have provided business strategy and marketing consulting to this firm as they grew from a web designer into one of the most technically advanced software developers working with Adobe's Flex 2, a Rich Internet Application.

Openlands, an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing public open space in northeastern Illinois.
Since July 2004, Marketscope has been project manager for Openlands' Corporatelands native habitat program (a partner in the Clean Air Counts Initiative). After directing an effort to convince institutions with large properties, such as corporations, colleges, religious institutions, and hospitals, of the benefits of replacing turf grass with plants native to the Chicago region, the native habitat program is now focusing on installing native plant demonstration gardens across the Chicago Region. Integral to both efforts has been designing and implementing a comprehensive marketing strategy that includes ongoing enhancements to the program's website, a quarterly email newsletter, and media exposure.

Representative Past Projects

A facilitated marketing training and planning session for a health care organization's annual Board/staff retreat.
In a fast-paced and stimulating yet thorough session, Marketscope led the participants through visioning exercises, presented a Marketing 101 "lecturette" tailored to their nonprofit organization, and provided a framework which they used to create a draft marketing plan.

An outcome evaluation for the educational outreach program offered by one of Chicago's major cultural organizations.
After consulting with a planning team made up of staff and clients, we developed a full understanding of the program's strengths and weaknesses by analyzing written evaluations, interviewing teachers who had used the curriculum, and conducting focus groups in the schools with students who had experienced the program. Many of our recommendations for modifying the program were implemented.
